Amy Campbell, ‘Simultaneity’ 2014, mixed media on paper
ta-da! I just opened a new online print store!
if you see anything else on my website that you’d like a print of or that you want on any of the other stuff society6 makes, just send me a message and I’ll add it to the shop just for you!
i know self promotion posts like this are kinda annoying, but tumblr is really the only way I have of reaching the people who support and encourage my work and doing this stuff is essential for me to make a living, so pls be gentle with me
since graduating in may, i’ve been sustaining myself from selling work through shows I’ve had and from selling prints and crafts online, which is very inconsistent at best. I’ve been applying to about 3 jobs a day but as you know, stuffs hard out there rn. I’ve been working on producing a new photobook in both cheap and professional formats, and releasing it depends on how much work I can sell, so any support is really helpful.
a lot of people assume that because i have work in galleries and because i had one post that went ~viral~ im making a killing as a fine artist, but in actuality, the only money i’ve gotten has been from print sales.
if you see any work of mine you’d like to own, your support will help me to create new work and to have more time to dedicate to improving as an artist and hanging out w you guys on here!
as a thank you for buying something from my shop, just message me your address and I’ll send you a cute little thank you note w/ some goodies <3
if you can’t buy anything i 100% understand- just reblogging this post and my other work helps me a lot too, because you guys reblogging stuff is literally what helped my past projects gain so much visibility. im getting mushy now, but u guys rule thank u so much <33
Mark Rothko, Blue and Grey, 1962, oil on canvas
“I’m not an abstractionist… I’m not interested in relationships of color or forms… I’m interested only in expressing basic human emotions—tragedy, ecstasy, doom and so on… The people who weep before my pictures are having the same religious experience I had when I painted them.”—Mark Rothko, 1956
There is so much horror in the world, but I use photography to document the places and people I’m thankful for. I want to go everywhere, and do everything, and surrender to the glory of it all.
The following is a link to my tumblr, which also includes art and poetry (and a few dumb photos of me). Most photographs included are from my travels.
